it’s really irritating to me that ur grade relies on the inadequacy of someone else. wth is that.
it’s like. if my judge hears that i have the world’s worst accompanist then they’ll probably understand and do their best to focus on me but then there’s the fact that my piece isn’t really for violin with piano accompaniment. it’s for violin and piano, it’s basically a duet. the way we perform together is a big part of my score. there are parts where i rely completely on him to tell me what to do and he’s not doing anything right. so if he’s not right, i’m not right, and that affects my score.

i’ve been working on this piece since august and he doesn’t even know half of it. and i was the first person to contact him but the last person he thought about and that’s not cool. just super unprofessional.
my violin teacher is going to look for accompanists who have played my solo so i can see about switching thank god. the only problem is that i can’t call any accompanist, they have to know this piece. that’s why i gave my current accompanist the music 5 months in advance, because it’s REALLY FRICKING HARD TO PLAY but god knows what he did with that time because he definitely wasn’t practicing

my teacher told me to take a SLOWER TEMPO in my 4th movement because my accompanist CAN’T PLAY IT THAT FAST. I CAN NOT PLAY IT THAT SLOW. IT’S AN ALLEGRETTO NOT A DIRGE. IT IS VERY LIKELY THAT I WILL LOSE POINTS FOR TAKING IT TOO SLOW.
FOR REFERENCE, THIS IS NORMALLY NOT HOW IT WORKS, NORMALLY THE ACCOMPANIST HAS THEIR SHIT TOGETHER BECAUSE THEY’RE PROFESSIONALS AND I’M PAYING THEM

the thing that pissed me off the most about my accompanist is that he spent 10 minutes of my half hour with him talking about césar franck’s organ chorales like we’re not fricking playing his organ chorales we’re playing his violin sonata so since you didn’t have the decency to learn your part could you at least grace me with the full 30 minutes of your abysmal playing so i can know what i’m dealing with here
